Key Meetings Focused on Odisha's Development

New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: During his recent trip to the national capital, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi engaged in significant discussions with Union ministers Bhupender Yadav and Ashwini Vaishnaw, addressing various developmental challenges facing Odisha. In his dialogue with Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav, the focus was on environmental protection, forest management, climate resilience, and sustainable development, aiming to synchronize Odisha's environmental objectives with national ecological initiatives.

Following this, Majhi met with Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, where they deliberated on enhancing railway infrastructure, advancing the semiconductor sector, and fortifying the state's burgeoning IT industry. The Chief Minister also visited Union Minister for Housing & Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal, to discuss urban development strategies and housing projects. His visit coincided with his participation in SEMICON India 2025 and the GST Council Meeting, where the Odisha government secured memorandums of understanding (MoUs) valued at Rs 2,655 crore with prominent industry leaders to stimulate investment and industrial expansion in the state.

Moreover, Majhi inaugurated the Omfed Café and Koraput Coffee Café at Odisha Niwas, showcasing local dairy and coffee products from Odisha in the capital. After the GST Council Meeting, he lauded the Union government's recent GST reforms, calling them 'historic and people-centric.' He acknowledged the leadership of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, asserting that these reforms align with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a 'Developed India by 2047' and will significantly enhance economic growth and improve living standards.
